The Heckler & Koch MP5/10 10mm sub-machine-gun is one of the rarest of all the MP5 variants. Developed for the FBI, it is alleged than fewer than 15,000 total guns were ever produced. When the contract was cancelled due to the FBI dropping the 10mm cartridge, Heckler & Koch shifted the 10mm tooling over to .40 S&W and began producing the MP5/40.

The MP5/10 and the MP5/40 are identical with exception of caliber and delay timing. They also are the only two MP5 variants that feature a last round bolt hold open. The Dakota Tactical manufacture of these iconic guns are considered by many to be second only to the original German guns. Our MP5/10 and MP5/40 variant are two of our most sought after models.

Serial number 1 of both of these models were intended to be handed down to my children. After some thought and discussion within the family, we have decided to let them go in order to help fund other interests that our children currently have. With that said, here is some history on both of the guns…

The D54P/10 serial number 1 is the first 10mm MP5 variant that DT produced. It was assembled using a genuine German HK parts kit with a Michaels Machines 10mm barrel. Mike only made a small number of these barrels which are considered be one of the finest US-made 10mm MP5 barrels ever produced. This particular gun has traveled around a bit. It has spent time at Silencerco for suppressor testing and has sat on the wall of various exhibits at SHOT Show. For the last several years it has sat in the DT pattern vault for use as a master reference and historical piece. While the internals of the gun are in excellent condition, the exterior finish has dulled a bit over the years from handling and use. The recipient will have the option of having us refinish it or leave it as-is to preserve its historical state.

The D54/40 serial number 1 is not the very first .40 MP5 variant that DT has produced however we did reserve the serial number so the gun could be added to our pattern vault at a later time. It was assembled from a full German HK MP5/40 parts kit on our US-made receiver. This particular gun has been operated very little and has primarily been used as media and advertising piece. It is in pristine condition.

Both guns are pistols with aluminum A1 endcap. Recipient can have them factory-registered as SBRs if they would like. The package will come with a total of 4 German HK magazines. Both guns share magazines.
